So, I've been putting a combination of old and new parts on the track bike for this coming season. I finally realized that the mag Marchesini's I've been hauling around for the past 6 years would be a direct fit onto this bike! Fit them last weekend along with some new T-drive rotors, which seem to be a great fit for the 999 calipers. I have RCS masters waiting to go on once a new clutch line arrives. I think this is going to be a fun summer!

Regards,

Jeff

P.S. Good lord these pictures are huge! Sorry.

Great looking bike!

I'm about to do the 999 brakes on my 2000, what did you do for brake lines? I'm running a 1098 radial that has the same port position and dimensions as the RCS. The stock 999 uses the same MC with the weird shaped resevoir.

You are running the clip ons in the normal position as I am so I don't know if the stock 999 set up will fit ok. I tried to buy the stock lines with the calipers but they guy wanted to keep them. I was going to buy aftermarket lines anyway.

The bike is in Australia and I'm buying the parts here in the US and taking them back so I don't have any way to check dimension before I buy!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! All the bodywork is Sharkskinz...tail section is the SS race tail cover and front section is 749 of course. Creative drilling of holes and the bodywork mates up pretty well. I did dremel out some sections out near the back where the exhaust was rubbing.

It looks like the 999 brake line length will work fine, but the moment of truth will be this weekend when I fit it. I still have to order a new clutch line and Pirelli's before she's ready for Summer. I'll take some more pics this weekend if I make progress.

Hi Ian! I am signed up for the Motofit weekend in July. Might take Sullivan's class on May 24 as well. I penciled in a couple Bellevue Ducati days if my budget holds out. Hope to see you there. I really would like to see the lines you take around the Ridge so I can improve some. Still owe you big time for that clutch plate you gave me. Saved my weekend!

Regards,

Jeff

The wheels do look great, Jeff.

I switched to the 4 pad calipers and 1098 master cylinders on my 996 over the winter. With stock pads on the street - the difference is significant.

I've got the same parts almost sourced for the 900SS HotRod with BrakeTech iron rotors.

Should do OK... :p
