Hi Boys,

I should be picking up my S Touring soon in San Francisco.
Great info here!
I'm an inveterate farkeler :D and here's my plan.
The bike will have the larger side case lids and the top box and
I've grown to value the TPS system on my K1200GT so I'm having one
installed on the MTS 1200.
There's no way I can leave that lump of an exhaust system
under there so I'll do the Termi's, of course the canister will
come off as I do on all my bikes, Then I'll build my electrical
accessory system, similar to the systems on my KTM 990 and
BMW K1200 GT, I'll start with the Eastern Beaver fuse block,
from which I'll run,
Beltronics Radar detector with remote warning light.
Garmin Zumo 550
Piaa 1100 driving lights
Scorpio paging alarm system
heated clothing outlets front and rear
tank bag power
outlet for air pump.
a small volt meter
That looks like a lot of stuff but with careful planning and
thoughtful looming of your wiring it can be unobtrusive.

I'm getting this bike to replace my BMW K120 GT, I like the upright riding position, and am not looking at this ride as a dual sport
bike but like it's ability to ride dirt roads if needed.
I do have KTM 990 Adventure, a 690 enduro and a 300 exc so
I have the dual sport and trail riding covered.

Twist It, MAX

Have you looked into the weak alternator? I am not sure you'll be able to run all those extras.

+1...ya beat me to it. Just so ya know...the MTS alternator is less than half the capacity of the GT. Be warned...calculate your consumption, especially when using the Gerbings and the heated grips.

Congrats and can't wait to see photos of your progress. But yeah turn on all that stuff at the same time and you could have some problems.

Hi
Sounds like a bit of work ahead. I'm not keen on the larger panniers though IMHO but if you carry a lot of gear then I think you could get a jacuzzi in one of these ;)

Congrats and welcome! You will love the bike but damn; that's a lot to be running. Good luck and keep us updated on the progress.

more juice

yes your right about the lack of juice.
have to keep an eye on the volt meter in cold conditions and slow riding.
I might need to fit HID lights for less consumption.
What is the output of the alternator ?
The GPS, Alarm and radar detector use very little power, so it's
down to the Girls heated clothing, the grips and the driving lights.
I don't use heated clothing so that's some savings and we ride in Central
ans South America quite a bit when it's warm down there.
I usually ride the KTM 990 but want to do an adventure on the MTS1200.

Thanks, MAX
