Hey guys, was a member years ago, had an 05 749s. So I’m looking for my first monster after my 1995 916 deal fell through. Always wants a monster anyways. So at the moment I’ve found a couple somewhat close to me, a 2010 1100s with everything rizoma and termi with race chip In immaculate condition for 6500 with 10k miles and a 2014 1200s with 19000 miles for 7500, never ridden a newer monster so curious what people think, I was trying to talk a guy out of his s4rs for 7k but he said he wasn’t sure if he wanted to sell now

The 2010 is the best compromise between all of them. If you're <6' tall it fits the best, and it has all the OG Duc stuff (dry clutch, SSSA), with a little refinement over the Gen 1. Can't go wrong with any of them, but the first two gens are what the monster was meant to be, the new one is a different animal.

Less is more and more is monster. 1100 is simple, but has never left me wanting more. It’s a classic. Can go cafe racer route or can get taller bars and comfy seat and travel with it. Maintenance is relatively cheap or easy to do. No extra electronics (except 1100evo) it’s just you and the bike :)

I echo @Shawn of the Dead . I too have a 1200R which I love but the last gen of air-cooled Monsters was my favorite in terms of looks. I've never had the opportunity or pleasure to ride one yet.
