50,000 pounds! someone is on drugs!.....

The 851 "kit" was a weird offering, rear indicators but none on the front, slicks and magnesium 17" wheels but they came with a headlight?? The ventilated dry clutch and megaphone exhaust made a (nice) racket and the twin injector set up was cool, even if it was a pig to set up and almost impossible for anyone to tune, some (Bob Brown) even went to 4x Keihin carbs in a desperate attempt to wring some speed out of it.....

Dunno about being a "Very capable" race bike either, their geometry was fixed when the following years 851 arrived and had 17" wheels as a road bike, they were far more rideable and the rest was history, that tricolour may have been the first but i don't remember it winning much
