Browsing CL for a light nimble bike to get off the DL1000 I rode for five years, looked - and test rode the FZ07 and 09, and SV650, which didn't fit me, then was taken(?) by a listing for a 2012 MTS 1200S for what seemed like a very good price. We'll see how we do! I'm heavy, this bike is probably not setup for me. Need rear spring probably. Guess I'll do the SCU but better get the sag sorted first. Looking forward(?) to spending lots of money to make this right. :smile2:

Welcome! :smile2:

Just to get it said, it's preferred that members put their location in their profile (so it shows up near your moniker) that way it's easier to help folks with given issues. Look at my moniker as well as many others for an example.

Also; CL? SCU? DL1000? Sorry mate, I'm not well versed in Twitter-ease. :wink2:

San Jose is it? I spent the first eleven years of my life in Hayward, Fremont, San Leandro, San Jose, and Santa Clara (1960 to 1971). My dad and my two half brothers lived in Santa Clara until 1994. Right near Central Park. Back then it was an absolute middle class haven ... tons of kids ... some of the best public schools in the USA ... lots to do (Stevens Creek, Buzzards, etc). My dad put in thirty three years at Lockheed in Sunnyvale .. one of my half brothers is right at around thirty years there right now. You could look up the phrase "American middle class" in an encyclopedia and there would be a picture of Toledo Avenue in Santa Clara.

I understand it's no longer that way.

Have fun on your bike!
