I left a 40% down payment on a 2018 M797 today. Should be here (Querétaro, México) later this week.

I know I'm trying to make a sport-tourer out of a naked bike, but I couldn't swing a Multistrada.

I need more wind protection than the flyscreen provides. I see several different Puig windscreens on eBay. I'm thinking the "Ranger" might be the best of the options -- it's not too massive, but would appear to be tall enough to offer basic protection. Does anyone have this windscreen on their bike? Comments?

Any/all advice welcome.

Thanks,
Mark

HI Mark -
Good choice on the 797, I think you'll be really happy with it - it would be nice if we had a sub section devoted to the 797 so we could more easily share what fits and what doesn't. (I've asked the Admins, but no-go so far)

I've been looking for something that provides some protection, but I want to be able to remove it easily and quickly, as most of the time I won't need the screen around town - so I'm thinking bar mounted windscreens.

I tried this one - https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle...tion-windscreen-ducati-monster-797-821-1200-s and it was hideous on the bike - I sent it back. Looks like that's too small for your needs anyway.

I'm thinking of this -

The Ranger looks a bit larger than the stream universal - I'd say just check how it mounts to the bike, and be aware of the share around the headlight since ours is not perfectly round.

Good luck, let me know what you go with since I'm looking as well. Shoot me a message if you need something.

Mike

Thanks, Mike. Before I saw your post, I cast caution to the wind and ordered this:

Hope it looks OK... it wasn't cheap.
Also have Shad semi-rigid bags and supports coming. And a throttle lock. Hoping to take delivery Tuesday afternoon. Then... RAM phone mount... spools/sliders and a paddock stand... you know how it goes...
I'll post a photo or two when the windscreen arrives.

I put a taller screen on the stock mini fairing on my S4RS. It definitely helps, but it shakes so bad at higher speed I’m sure it will soon crack the fairing or mounts. Also, it’s ugly. It’s a Zero Gravity.

I think that'll work for the protection your looking for. I'll be interested to see the pics. I hope it works out well for you.
