some pics from St. Pb... was right downtown near where all the old nobility had their summer palaces - so of course it's crazy touristy today but worth a visit (I've always wanted to go).

The pictures are all 3k'ish resolution (half res from the originals) and you can zoom them in if you open the thumbnails.

This Cathedral was right across the street from my hotel:

What is your overall impression of the place? The people? The lifestyle?
I had a friend go recently and said he felt everything was very corrupt but his impression of most of the people he met was that they were very nice.

I suspect Russian visitors here say much the same thing. :laugh:
