Well, I've built and restored bikes for a very long time. I always hope that someone gets some useful information and ideas so that they can use on their own builds. Hopefully motivate someone to tackle that project. This was a frame off rebuild and if you want details I can post the start to finish process?

Here is the before:

Here are pics of the tear down. One thing I make sure before I take it apart is the bike and all its systems are functioning properly. I fix any wiring issues and also make sure all lights work and the bikes charging system is up to the task.

Here's some work on the engine. All cleaned up and polished up ready for paint.

I didn't want to separate the cases as there were no leaks. I found a close match to the engine side cases and engine color. I also was building this for a track bike and I also put my custom and artistic twist on what I would have done if I was at Ducati.

Here's some more of the stock exhaust cleaned up and made to look heated in. Used a stainless wire wheel to polish then a MAP gas torch to petina the colors I wanted. I also gutted and made a proper slip on out of the stock pipe with 2" perforated stainless baffle using the inner end caps of the orig baffles. I welded the perf tubing to them then secured with stainless pop rivets. I also painted the stock can a matte dark grey metallic. They sound the part and performed flawlessly.

Here's the bodywork going on. I went with iFairings (ZXMT) with a Troy Bayliss paint job. For the money these are a great deal and are almost as heavy as the original fairings. I'm a painter and was pleased with the quality. I painted a spare tank to match the INFO STRADA Themes.

Barber Motorsport Park Track Day March 27th with STT. Great time, the bike worked flawless. Managed to get the suspension dialed in and it was a blast. Oh by the way, I'm 60 years old and have loved every minute of motorcycling and won't stop as long as my body and brain can do it!

Wow, great job, very detailed. Love the Infostrada look, my favorite race colours. As another (almost) 60 y.o good to see you out there riding as well.

Amazing build, congratulations!!

Can you share the paint coded that you used to spray the engine and parts with the dark magnesium look? I'm looking to do the same to my 999 next winter but its difficult to find good color match for the gold magnesium look.

The one you used seems to be closer to the magnesium color that Honda normally uses. Ducati seem to have a mag that is closer to gold than bronze.

Incredible!

Two questions:
1) Why the screws in the lower triple? I assume you want to limit the steering range for some reason?
2) Where do you get the vinyl to shoot the letters etc?
