I have been thinking about making a pair of stainless mufflers for my 01 750ss
Iam pretty confident at building stuff and thought it might be a good way to save a few dollars and personalise my bike a bit....
anyone here made some before that could give me some tips.
Internal structure, dimensions, packing materials etc.
Has anyone opened up any DP or arrow mufflers and seen the internal layout??

Any ideas
Thanks

You might look at just replacing the tubes if you are looking to start simple. I have taken my mufflers apart and done a "mufflerectomy" on them and the aluminum tubes are pretty easy to get apart. It doesn't look like it would be too difficult to make some stainless tubes of the same diameter and reuse the endcaps. I'd just roll the stainless and rivet it on the inside so you couldn't see the rivets when they are installed on the bike.

I was thinking more along te line of making a complete straight thru muffler, probably high mount ones..
anybody got any pics inside their aftermarket slipons ?

This is an end pic of stock and DP (Remus) Inside the Remus is the same perforated tube as stock, but much bigger diameter and hence flow rate.

Other pic is before and after modding Remus pipe location.

Weird - it came up as on page 2 or 3 when i looked. Must be the screwy internet in our Hong Kong hotel, where we are on holidays at the moment.
