A&S Ducati was able to get us a 1199S fairly quickly last week

Day 1 photos:

It did not sit in our showroom very long before we started to take strip her down:

Looks so much better with out mirrors. We sent off the mirrors to Corse Dynamics so they could make us some mirror block off plates.

Day 2: "Get a room"

We decided to move the bike into the shop so we can have some fun.

We sent the clutch cover and stator cover off to Corse Dynamics to make stronger billet covers.

Exhaust came off to see if we could "core" the canister and remove the flapper valve. We already have a map that eliminates the flapper valve.

It was just a matter of time before we started to start bolting parts on the bike:

First Mod: a lightweight Shorai battery.

We were surprised to find a fairly light YTB7-BS battery on the bike that weighed a little over 6 lbs/ 120CCA. Out of curiosity we tried a Shorai battery 2.19lbs/270CCA.
1199 started much faster and saved about 4 lbs.
Nothing we had was a direct bolt on--so we made up a kit to fit the bike:

Shorai Lithium Iron LiFePO4 Battery KIT: Ducati 1199 Panigale. The kit includes a longer cable, a longer bolt/spacer for the OEM top and a Zip tie to secure the battery. The bike starts much faster with the Shorai battery.

We wanted something that was easier to adjust and would not break off on a lowside.
MW Folding Side Adjust Lever Set

RHINOMOTO Front Axle Slider: Ducati 1199/1098/848 SF S4Rs for a little more fork, caliper, rotor and wheel protection.

Looking for some more grip, we tried a few different footpegs.

We settled on the shorter of the two:
OBERON Billet Foot Pegs: Ducati 1199 Panigale

Day 3

We removed the passenger peg assembly and dropped 2.15lbs

Carbon Fiber quick release Fuel Cap . It dropped .4 lb over the OEM fuel cap.

We confirmed fitment for the

CORSE DYNAMICS Titanium Cush Drive Pins . These will save a little over a half pound of rotational unsprung weight and should last a lot longer.
AEM 6 Hole Sprocket Hub Cover weighs only .55 lbs. The combination weighs .65 pounds lighter than original

original:

AEM hub cover/Corse Dynamics cush drives:

DRIVEN Quick Change Sprocket Carrier and
Quick Change Sprocket saves an additional pound over the stock set-up.

We confirmed that
the large axle Chain Tool fit.

it also fits the eccentric of the 1199.

1199 mirror black off plates

We got the prototype block off plates back from CORSE DYNAMICS

These weigh .1 lb.
Mirrors weigh 2.5 lbs.
Production pieces will be anodized black. We should have these 5/8/12.

We will be using:

OBERON "Bar End" Turn Signals w/ CRG Mirrors

The turn signals fire front and rear. They are extemely bright.
The mirrors are slightly convex so it covers a large area.

From a distance, the bike does not look like it has mirrors.

Titanium spring for the 1199

We swapped out the stock spring for a titanium spring.

2.4 lbs OEM spring
1.0 lbs titanium spring
Saves 1.4 pounds.

Since the titanium spring isn't wound as tight there is no need to run the plastic shock guard, further showing off the cool spring.

looking forward to this project.

The wet clutch! A lot of tears being shed by aftermarket sellers, no more blinging up the dry clutches! :)

they won't be sweating too much. there'll be a dry clutch kit for the 1199 soon no doubt. just like for the 848... I imagine you just need new clutch side engine cover, and a dry clutch of some kind (probably a slipper). then you can pretty them up with shiny springs and caps etc to your hearts content. :)

Cool pics Martin, you can clearly see how radical this new superbike is. I guess the engine will need to be pulled to do any sort of maintenance. But that's not such an issue when service intervals are 15k.
Is there any place to fasten a "frame" protector to keep the bike off it's side? That rear tire is monsterous, almost cartoonish in size.....interesting.
It definetly would look/sound better with a dry clutch.....

What length & rates do the Ti springs come in? I'm looking for one to fit a TTX off a 1098R
