The bike is a 2000 Monster 900Sie and all is well, besides that the tacho only works on some days, part of the day :surprise:
usually it does not indicate anything at first, after some riding it might start showing an rpm that I think is correct.
Or, it works from the start but gives up after i while, this is most common when it is on the track.

Since there is no cable to it, I assume there are some Gremlins in the system.
Are there something to be adjusted och repaired?

With the bike running, and the tach operating, start wiggling wires and connections from the tach on back to the rest of the ignition system . Maybe you’ll find a poor connection or cracked wire. Look at a wiring diagram and figure out which connections feed the tach. I’ve found wires worn through touching the frame on mine. Simple things first, because you don’t want to replace the tach only to find you had a bad wire.
