Hi all,

Looking for a definitive answer on this.
As anyone here installed a Corbin seat on a later style Monster with a tail chop?

I have an 08 S4RS & the Corbin website states in the notes: will NOT fit Monster w/ tail chop. I asked Corbin & there reply was "our techs determined it would not fit".
If Corbin is not an option with a tail chop, does anyone have a recommendation?

Did they say why? Tail chops don't affect anything having to do with mounting the seat.

No, they did not say why..vague answer in my book.
That's why I'm posting on here for "real" wisdom"

I can't see why either, but before spending $500 on a seat, I want to make sure it fits lol
The only thing I can see is the tail chop brings the taillight in closer inboard & would interfere? ..not sure

It won’t fit with a replacement fuel cap either. If Corbin doesn’t know why it won’t fit, and no one here can figure why it wouldn’t fit, then it’s probably BS. Did you do your own tail chop ? Did you move anything that affected the seat ? I didn’t.

Actually no It was chopped when I bought it. But like you I'm thinking it's BS, I can't think of a reason why it would not fit.
But it would be nice to have someone chime in who owns an S4RS/tail chop with a Corbin saddle to confirm before I shell out $500 :wink2:

I have an S4RS with a tail chop, but I have a Sargent seat instead of Corbin. Mine fits fine. I cant see why the Corbin would be any different or how a tail chop can affect the seat.

Buy the seat through someone that pays return shipping like Amazon. Even if, by some stretch of the imagination, not fit because of the tail tidy, you sound like a clever enough chap to make it work. A piece of coat hanger and some racers tape ? By the way, are you aware that Corbin seat is going to be ungodly heavy ?

Many companies are scared to say that their products will work with any other aftermarket parts or changes.
Kind of ironic really.

In their own picture we observe that the stock license plate holder is occupying the section we would otherwise chop off. Yet that bike still showcases a Corbin seat.

This tells me that the Corbin seat probably still fits since in the picture it was in conjunction with an item that we know already occupies the portion of the tail we chop off, and thus could not have been used by the Corbin seat.
