MOS DEF...If I can get the snow out of my garage entry and the bike into the light!? JEEZ!

How about an item list with part numbers and suppliers? Associated photos of the modified areas? Great purchasing tool here....it is winter project time!!

I think this is a good idea I would love to have a list of suppliers that offer mod's at a good price or even a not so good price for the right mod!

I think it would be cool to have a sampling of the latest versions of everyone's bikes. Current stats.
yep thats sounds like an excellent idea , perhaps we could title the thread - "As she stands now'' or similar

1 nice photo and then list all the mods so far underneath

how's that sound and who's first ???? :)

Future mods - Im pretty happy with the bike as she is now - actually i was just happy with the termi's and st4s forks  - but later on maybe the STM breather, different crankcase cover (speedymoto or desmotimes, NCR if they do one) wouldnt mind trying tidy up the rego plate, some of those Rizoma alloy resevoirs would be nice.

performance wise - powercommander, maybe a lightened flywheel and 1080kit would be nice (in order of affordability) :)

Corks,
How did you get the Termis to mount over the exhause pipe flange without any gap? I have about .3/4" space for from the wide portion of the tube to the compression ring on the Termi. Any thoughts or mods?
thanks,

I think i do have a bit of gap, but perhaps not that much, the shop mounted them up for me and i know at one point they got a bit lose and i took them back and got everything tightened up again. i think a few people have commented on the gap, doesnt seem to effect anything, but i think i would like to take them off again and apply a liberal amount of exhaust gasket before re-fitting them .

Motovation Frame Sliders
Bikehead -

Thanks for the post - based on your photos, I checked out Motovation - and ordered the frame and front fork sliders.

Again, thanks!

This is a great idea. It will save a lot of redundant questions. Many of which would have been asked by me. :)

I have a suggestion, however. The Kawasaki Z1000 forum I used to frequent had a thread dedicated to direct replacement or easily modified part swaps from other bikes. (Ex: Rear shock from 20xx-20xx gsx-r 600/750 is a direct replacement for the Z1K 20xx-20xx OEM shock.)

That machine being Japanese and parts bin special, I'm sure it had a lot more interchangeable parts. But the Sports Classics have to have some too, and they could make for some very easy and inexpensive upgrades. If we could work together to get a comprehensive list, and keep it updated, it would be a great resource.

Garage Door Opener

wow, i thought i was the only one that was nerdy enough to do a remote garage door control... i approach my garage from a dirt/gravel alley and hated leaving the bike on it's sidestand in the loose stuff to fumble with the keypad on the garage, and could never get the damned remote out of my pocket and operate it with my gloves on.

so i did the "poor man's" version of D's mod - i got an extra remote, opened it up and found the switch contacts, soldered on a pair of wires and then stashed the remote under the seat and ran the wires up under the tank to the headstock. then i made up a little 1/2" wide aluminum bar, drilled both ends and mounted it between the clocks and put in a little red pushbutton in the middle.

it looks pretty OEM and is easy enough to operate with gloves on.

yes, i am a LAZY nerd...

Have you had a chance to ride with the new headlight after dark? Inquiring minds need to know.

Well, I'm not half as nerdy as people think I am, but I'm way more nerdy than I want to be....:)

Nerdy enough to do these latest mods:

I rubberized the ends of my levers. And I made some adaptors to install a projector beam headlight:
