There are a few pieces on the SC1000 that seem like they should not be plastic. For one thing, the engine case (the "L" casing).

Another: the throttle-body disc (where the throttle cables connect to the engine).

Are there metallic parts out there for these? Obviously the PS has a nicer engine case - can it be bought separately?

As far as I know there isn't anything different about the PS engine case.

Agreed - the SC cases are just thickly painted, but otherwise its still aluminum (AL). Take a look at ThunderDucRacer's bike - it has polished cases (the right side case is off an older bike with "Ducati" cast into the case):

Ummm.... did you really think that the engine cases were plastic? Never seen these in plastic before, your not talking about the belt covers by any chance are you? If so then there actually are some metal alternatives.
