All,

I'm just paging through the manual for my 2009 M696 and on page 110 it indicates the exhaust system for the USA model is "not catalyzed".

I thought the main performance benefit to running a race exhaust like the stainless or carbon Termis is that it deletes the cats, which in the stock exhaust are located in the mufflers themselves.

Do our bikes truly come from the factory sans cats?

Either way, after installing the stainless Termis on my bike, it clearly breathes better and is quicker to rev -- even without the race ECU and high-flow air filter.

should be in the front of the stock mufflers. take a light and look into the muffler. should have some honeycomb. my 1100 has the catalyst in the front of the mufflers
