This is dumb, but I got a carbon fiber rear fender for my 1100S monster and am wondering how to install it. The problem is the screw on the left side - looks like it is best handled by removing the rear wheel to get access. So, removing the wheel seems to require a 45 mm socket, which I have ordered. What is the torque on this nut (175 ft pound?) and how do I get it off without an impact wrench? Can I put a wooden board in the spokes to prevent the wheel from rotating and put a breaker bar on the socket and pull as hard as I can? Or should I try to get the screw out without removing the wheel??
thanks for your advice!
