I have a set of stock OE length YSS DCC-139 YSS G302TRCL shocks installed on my GT1000. I've decided I want to lower the rear by 20-30 mm. Other than Napoleon lowering brackets, is there a simple way to do this, like switching to a shorter spring, or would I have to buy a new set of shocks specifically built to a shorter lengthh?

Thanks.

I have lowered mine by the two big screws at the top of the spring. I think it changes the compression. But it worked out great for me because I was told that they are set up for your weight etc from the factory when you buy them... but after winding them down 18mm the bike feels alot better and the rear end does not bounce around anymore. It feels as if it is holding the road instead of bouncing over it. I don’t know the full details as I was helped by a friend of a friend who races bikes.
Cheers
Nev

Call Klaus at YSS and ask him. You may be able to send them to him and he can change the ride height for you.
