i have a 95 900ss with stock carbs, stock jets etc... got it running after it sat for several years. the carbs had some trash in them but weren't too bad. it runs out good until about 5000 rpms then it cuts out and sputters a bit until you get it above about 7000 rpms.. i didn't think to check the floats while I had the carbs off... could it be float related?

after sitting for years, needles and seats should def be looked at. check float levels. fresh fuel, new fuel filter too. i'd disassemble and inspect diaphrams as well.

i'd go so far as to remove needle jets and check openings there, too.

in other words...total carb cleaning/inspection. leave no stone unturned , storage measured in years dictates nothing less.

good luck.

yes, taking the entire carbs apart and have the
bodies cleaned in an ulra sonic device is a must,
same won't hurt with the idle jets of course.
