Candie and I are planning a trip to ride starting in Calgary and highlighting a night or two near Banff and lake Louise and then looking for twisty scenic roads to explore.
Any routs welcome. I think we plan on 7 days or so total and maybe 5 of those days riding. The trip will be sometime in August but the dates are still not decided.
Thanks

The Icefields Parkway route 93, from Lake Louise to Jasper is wonderfully senic but not a twisty road. Wildlife, mountain views, walk on a glacier if you like. One of the top senic drives in No. America, IMO.

The 3A used to be fun, don't know now. New Denver to Sandon, Trail, Rossland, there's lots of fun to be had. Take the ferry from Balfour. Outta Banff, take the 1A. Campers and motorhomes usually clog the Trash(Trans) Canada.
If you're through on a long weekend, there'll be the Revenue Canada's Motorized Patrol with lasers and radars on 83 and #1 on one side or the other of the Provincial boundary.
They used to patrol by helicopter and light aircraft too.
Border crossing at Babb(89)/Carway(2) used to be not so busy/invasive.
Of course watch our for swamp donkeys(moose) and bear around Japser.
Revelstoke to Golden is nice, fuel up before you go into the park!

August is good, you'll miss Stampede(Calgary), and all the chaos that brings.

The Kananaskis Trail, Highway 40 or the highwood pass is close to Calgary. The highest paved pass in Canada, which will be open in August, approx. 300 kms.

It depends on what your looking for. Spectacular mountain scenery or the twistys. Unfortunately not a lot of twistys to choose from in Alberta. The southern interior of British Columbia has more twisty options

Camping ? uh no...
At this point it looks like we are going to stay in the Okanagan valley, at a B&B or a VRBO cabin, we'll probably stay a night up near lake louise or banff. there seems to be plenty of places near penticton and the general winery row...
