I need to remove the wheels so I can mount my new tires.

Is it possible to support the bike from the bottom of case?

I don't have rafters and I don't have rearsets but I do have a jack.

Has anyone ever done this?

I've supported the back end of my 748 with an A-frame ladder and some loading straps so I can work on the rear suspension. Don't know if this'll translate into suspending your front end (I have a pit stand for that) but, if you can find somewhere to loop straps to hold up the front end, an A-frame ladder works pretty well.

Go slow and be safe/secure.

I've done it every time I have changed a front tire.

Stock stand with a 6 foot long 2 x 4 tied across it to keep all tips under control in the back and a floor jack under the sump. Works great. Be sure not to crush the oil filter.

If you are going to keep the bike, invest in a rear stand and a front stand. An old saying, "the right tool is worth every penney".
