Well folks, the silly season has become so silly that with only hours to go until practice starts for the Laguna race, ducti.ms forum members are too busy talking about possible rider-team movements to start a race thread. :abduct:

This has been talked about all year as the race that will decide Rossi's future (or not) with Ducati.

All will be revealed soon....

The only thing that has ever decided Rossi's future is the size of the cheque.

I'm pumped for this race. I'm expecting a good Stoner/Lorenzo/Dani battle for 1st/2nd, and I think there should be some nice action for the 3/4/5 spots as well. It'd be awesome to see Nicky on a podium here, or Spies for that matter.

My pre-practice, pre-qualifying guess so far :D

Stoner
Lorenzo
Pedrosa
Dovi
Hayden
Spies
Crutchlow
Rossi

I have a gut feeling Hayden will do very well at Laguna. I think Spies will go for broke, either on the podium or crash out. Dani or Stoner are my early favorites with Lorenzo stalking them for the possible win.

You forgot to put *official thread* in the title...:D
Sorry CAlexio, I was too enthralled by Davy.J's non-biased and insightful commentary to notice.

Will try to do better next time.

My pre-everything predictions:

Lorenzo
Pedrosa
Stoner
Hayden
Dovi
Crutch
Rossi
Spies
Bautista
Bradl

My pre-everything hopes:

Top 3

Hayden
Rossi
Spies

My money is on Bradl crashing out and being intimidated by the Corkscrew.

In FP2 Rossi had a big off ( low side ) in turn 3 that brought out the red flag. Cal had a low side in turn 10. Stoner was pushed off the track by Steve Rapp ( slowest CRT rider) on a his last lap as he was going for a hot lap. Needless to say I don't think Stoner was too happy. :D

I know it's only practice, but I thought Ducati was bringing a bike with new parts plus a brand new engine? I don't know about you guys, but I'm not seeing it i.e. much improvement at all. Now Pedrosa is pretty much on a 2013 machine with new chassis and new engine and it shows in his times. Stoner has just the new engine this weekend in his current 2012 chassis.

Looks like more of the same. Im a big Ducati fan but their Motogp effort is slow as far as fixing this bike. I won't be surprised if Rossi takes the Yamaha deal.

Spies will be trying very hard for a home win; he has nothing to lose. Nicky wants to celebrate his birthday and new contract with a podium. Pedrosa is on form but Stoner goes well at Laguna. Lorenzo is smooth and consistent but has problems at this track. Rossi won't risk his neck, but will take what the Ducati gives. Steve Rapp will be trying to stay alive on a CRT wild card that was finished only a couple of days ago - no testing whatsoever. Crutchlow has not done well here, and Dovi isn't at his most comfortable.

Upshot?

Pedrosa
Stoner
Spies (or he'll crash out)
Lorenzo
Hayden
Dovi
Rossi
Crutchlow (or he'll crash out)

Anyone remember when he took his dad along for the victory lap back in the day? That was awesome stuff...
Yep. Too many years ago, unfortunately.
