$5,500 good deal?

Took a test ride on Sunday and was hooked! :yeah:

The service team at the BMW-Ducati dealer in Charlotte, NC checked the valves (and found them to be in spec) and changed cam belts and sparkplugs in May of 2008 (only 2453 miles ago).

Welcome to the board, Sam. And yes, that sounds like a very good deal indeed. The real bonus for you is that you live in the heart of some of the finest motorcycling roads on the planet -- roads your bike was absolutely designed for. Enjoy!

Great deal! Welcome and enjoy. Maybe I can make it down there sometime for a group ride. Love the mountains near there.

Yes, Welcome to the club! The "chip" is the performance chip in the ECU. The OEM chip made most bikes run too lean, and generally like crap. Then you add pipes and it makes the running even worse until you alter the FI map by changing the chip. BTW, consider youself lucky, because the newer bikes can't be chipped--the entire ECU needs to be swapped--for a bit over $1000 !!!

Hey, if you ever fall out-of-love with that rear rack, there are a ton of gents here that would buy that from you. I'm assuming it did not come with the top case that would mount to this rack?

The seller said he had to hang on to the top box.
Looks like a new one for that rack is around $200+ with a back rest.

Bill is referring to the rule that ST owners must wear a tinted helmet shield whenever possible. Can't have anyone giving away their age. :)

Welcome to the club and yes $5500 sounds like a pretty good deal when you figure the cost of the valve service that was not done too long ago. I am a die hard Ducati Red guy but that blue is pretty sweet and you don't see them very often. I think I have seen one ST in blue ever and that was last year at the Indy Moto GP. It stood out in a see of red and black Duc's.......

Nice bike.Sounds like you've been won over by the ST's like me. I'm partial to the blue myself. Actually, I like the red the least of all the Ducati colors. Oh well...

Yea, some guys just can't handle the faster red ones :)

Just kidding, I've always loved the blue ones.
