I have a 2008 Multistrada with a stuck oil filter. By any chance is the oil filter left handed thread? I do not have an oil filter wrench and was using 12" channel lock. The wrench slipped and I torn my finger on the pipe heat shield requiring a visit to the emergence room. I borrowed two adjustible oil filter wrenches from a friend one of the wrenches tighten around the filter clock wise.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. No, the oil filter is regular threaded. Sounds like it was over tightened and the body of the filter was forced into the case. A good search of the site should reveal some insight as to how to remove it. Good luck and get well quickly.

Can you get a long screwdriver through both sides of the filter?
That should give you the leverage you'll need.
