In relation to other bikes in the universe, the simple answer is NO. There are a hundred better bikes that are far better for that purpose.
If you have no other ride to work... then the simple answer is YES. It will get you to work

I use my 748 in the summer. hard as h*ll clutch, warm like no other. doesn´t like stops, danger off overheating.
Just plain lovely.
