Hi guys,
I have been hearing some real horror stories about the price of insurance in the UK, and even had some people say that young people with performance vehicles often are refused insurance altogether. As I am only 22 this is a concern for me. Could you guys give me a better idea of how this will relate to my future duc and I?

Cheers,
Kalon

Hi Kalon,
I don't remember having too much of a problem with insurance when I was 22. Mind you, I had a 400CC Honda then, not a Duke! I am now 30 and have been riding (on the road) since I was 17. My last quote at 29 in the UK was 165 pounds 3rd party, fire and theft for a year. I do know that insurance prices come down alot when you turn 25 (no help to you yet, sorry!)
I now live in Spain and insurance prices are positively insane here compared to the UK. Compared to what I payed in the UK last year, this year I payed 615 euros for a year, 3rd party ONLY!!! 430 pounds!!! SHOCKING! Not even covered for theft for that expense. I feel like I've been completely ripped off.
Make sure you ring around many companies as they all differ IMMENSELY on price and regulations. I'm sure you'll find someone to insure you. There are also specialist Ducati insurance companies in the UK. Try them. You'll probably find them on Google.
Hope all this helps.

Richie.

Duke insurance isn't too bad in the UK, if it helps you can get an online quote with ducati insurance (google them for the UK) I've got my 851 and 916 insured for around £300 TPFT, but I've just turned 30!
