I have ordered an Airtech Mono tail

I thought I'd start a thread for some of us new old bike owners! I've been trying to mono'ize and S'ize my S1000s since I got it. So I went ahead and ordered the Air Tech mono tail, it's on this page:

DUCATI SPORT CLASSIC PAUL SMART, GT, 1000S, BIPOSTO RACE FAIRING, FAIRINGS, BODYWORK, FRONT, FENDER, REAR, HUGGER, TAIL, SEAT, TANK, WINDSCREEN, COWL, LOWER, UPPER, SUPERMONO, TWIN, BEVELHEAD, DESMO, THUNDERDUC

It's basically the same exact shape but narrower and by the nature of it's design lower.

The Front of the tail mounts in the same way as the stock seat does, but they recommend making the bracket (in the pic below) to bolt the rear of the tail to the frame. This is how my old tail was on a Suzuki Cafe Racer and over time this cracked the tail and such so I'm not so keen on doing it this way.

My idea was to produce something I could attach (or bond?) to the tail so that it attaches in he exact same way as the Biposto seat does, with the same locking mechanism, etc.

Has anyone done that?

Another thing I need to look into is a seat material. I could do a simple foam pad as below but I'd ideally like it to look much more factory. The seat on the green bike below is the closest I've seen to what might come out of Bologna, but I would do black.

Thoughts on a seat? Has anyone got a "seat guru" they recommend?

How did this turn out? Were you satisfied, or perhaps run into any complications?
I am looking for a replacement to my damaged mono-postal seat on my SC-1000, and am curious about your findings. Thxs!
