I'm replacing a fairing i f*^%&#d up, lowsided on the clutch side. The replacement I bought off ebay has a extremly worn out insulation pad (the one thats near the clutch.) I want to swap the good pad i have from the crashed fairing.

How do you remove this piece and put it back on? The fasteners holding them are these weird plastic thumbtack things that look glued on but too fragile to twist with pliers.

Sorry guys I really tried 30 minutes to find an answer using Search but couldn't find anything.

Sorry, no real answer for you, real fragile indeed.
I don't think they are for heat insulation, just noise restriction.
I took them all off (worn out as well) and no side effects so far.

Those are just for noise. I pulled mine off the first chance i got and threw them in the bin.
