Hi all. I have recently had some work done on a mhr mille 1000. Bike has been running beautifully but idle was a bit high. Following my attempts to lower the idle the bike has been farting and carrying on. Ran very hot. Pipe left nasty burn mark on fairing. Is it likely my idle adjustment caused the bike to run hot or is it more likely some other issue? Want to keep fairing as high as possible for corner clearance.

What did you do to the idle? If you let the bike idle for a long time in very hot weather, then it will overheat. Did you change the idle jets? I would recommend that you leave the carb settings as the factory intended, either for Silentiums or Contis. Do you have new rubbers on the inlet manifolds? if these are decayed then they will allow air leaks, which will really mess up the idle. It may be worth getting the ignition timing checked.

Thanks. Turns out it was a wiring problem and have just had it sorted. Looking forward to having a ride on sunday. Hope its sorted.
