Oxford UK resident, i picked up a 750ssie about a year and a half ago. The first job i did was replace the belts, ballsed that up good and proper, bent a valve in each head. It was the best thing that ever happened to me and sparked an interest in fixing / modifying my Duc.
Since then i've replaced the valves and re-shimed them myself.
Other mods / service in the last year:
K&N case breather to fix the "milky oil" problem.
Dobeck TFi fuel management module.
Sealed battery to replace lead-acid.
Renthal sprockets, Tsubaki chain, -1 tooth at the front.
Alu swinger from a <98 900ss.
TiN coated forks from 996. Associated clip-on change, top trip bore-out and lower shim. Seals done and 10w Silkoline oil.
Side-stand re-wire with neutral light cut-out.
Heated grips & Scottoiler.
Clutch slave upgrade is still sat on my work bench and i'm shopping around for new cans.
That's it, hope i can contribute to the forum and pick up some tips.
Here it is, luggage rack and camera mount below the tank were on for a trip to the IoM TT:
