What he said. Certainly closer to '66 than a '56, and with a lot of non-stock parts on it. Looks like someone "customized" it at some point. Probably started life as a 250 Scrambler. Does it say "250" on the other side of the engine on the cam cover? Not all that rare, not in good condition, not worth all that much as far as Ducatis go, but then I'm no expert either.

but i can't find any writing/stamps on the frame or rest of the bike.
Way back when they made that bike only the motor had the numbers stamped into it they would put a tin sticker on the frame with the numbers on it, it usually falls off

what are your plans for it? I almost bought a 250 motor a couple months ago but the guy wanted twice what I wanted to pay

Agreed- Prolly started life as a mid-60s Narrowcase scrambler 250

Isn't much left of it to restore it back to correct standards?

Just engine, frame, forks and Header pipe.......

Would take a TON of cash to make original again, still a good start on a Custom Cafe' ride!!

Good Luck!
