Is there anyway to improve them to make them fit tighter? I bought a $160 Scorpion helmet, and that's my only issue with it so far. This must be an issue across the board for helmets, anyone have a link to a DIY or have an idea?

Thinking of applying a thin layer of silicone under the seal to prop it up a bit...

Are you getting air leakage around the sheild? That sheild mechanisim isn't the best. Shoei, HJC and ARAI all work better. The problem is it doesn't pull back against the gasket.

This sounds about right, but i figure if i can puff up the gasket a bit i could get a decent seal, I could deal with the helmet for a while. It looks to be spring loaded and non-adjustable. I'd love to get a Shoei, but would like to use this one for at least one season. I'm just getting air on my face and all the vents are closed. I'm going to head to the hardware store and see what I can find...

If anyone has ideas, they are appreciated.

Have you tried a chin curtin? You may be getting air up through the bottom of the helmet too.
I have not, but looking into ordering one right now, $8 is worth a shot.

I picked up some larger o-rings from the hardware store and put them under the faceplate gasket. They hold well without silicone and i can tell it seals a lot better. I won't be able to take a ride for a few days to see if it worked, but I'll post back with more details if it did.
