Finally got around to doing something I wanted to do for years: have a helmet repainted in the scheme of my favorite F1 driver, Gilles Villeneuve. Found a painter in Argentina (http://www.f1-helmets.com) that sold copies of various F1 drivers' helmets (I believe for display rather than for actual use) and via email he relayed that they would repaint any new helmet I sent to them. So sent him a new white Shoei RF-1000 and in a few weeks, I got it back as promised; no surprises at all. Very, very pleased with the result (in fact, I was pleased to get the helmet back at all as I had a worry that I'd never see that helmet again). The RF-1000 is a great helmet, other than the front chin vent letting a bit too much air by even when closed..

You seem to have an unusual cockpit layout.
How do you get away with the high clipons and the fairing :think:?

high bars

Yes, I did some customization on the bars. Tracked it via this string

It's the high bars from the biposto, the longer throttle cable from the biposto, a dremel to cut the fairing, rubber edging to cover the cut edge, a pair of manicsalamander big bar end weights, and then 1/2" aluminum bar (bent in a bench vise) to make a new fairing support bar. Dramatically extended how long I can ride before my hands are numb.
