Hellooo.

Hoping to join now that I'm the proud owner of a 2012 Monster 796! It's my first bike, so I'm really looking forward to learning (a lot) and hopefully meeting locals to ride/meetup with.

Odometer just went over 250 miles today... so it's still fresh, but one thing's for certain: I love riding it and have a newfound appreciation for good weather & empty roads. :D

Hello and welcome to the forum. I live south of you in Crimora, Va. in the Shenandoah Valley. There are lots of nice roads down here. I am still working on my ST2 but ride my Yamaha any chance I can get with three kids. Maybe one day we can hook up and go for a ride somewhere. Reston is around 2 hours from me but that is nothing to ride. Good Luck with your new bike.

I just joined the site a few days ago too after lurching for a while.

I am in Alexandria. Just moved back after bein overseas for the last 10 years and having fun exploring riding routes around the area. Some great rides.

Lets ride

@lostboy2:
Thanks! I'm one of those cautious types; so it's been a pretty slow and steady process of learning and thankfully haven't laid it down yet (knock on wood). I'll be staying local for a while but meeting up at some point sounds like a fun idea, especially considering the *awesome* roads you must have! :D

@Retro:
Wow, welcome back to the area! Like I mentioned to lostboy2 above, I'm still in a dip-the-toes-in-the-water phase, but that'd be awesome to meet up at some point... gimme a couple of weeks and I should be good to go for a ride. :)

Lesson Learned #1:
Don't say you're interesting in meetups until you're actually ready to meetup. :p
