That's normal.
I've noticed on both my bike that they were set very low and the beam will make that shape on the ground about 20ft in front of the bike....
That low setting is dangerous for night-time riding, as the road ahead is not lit-up well, and you will see hazards late. It is also a distraction to the eye.
Adjust it with the circular upper knob on the headlight assembly. Facing the knob, clockwise moves the beam up and points it farther into the road.
You will have to rotate it 30 or 40 times, maybe more to get the beam to point higher. You will be happy when its done!
