Hi,

Just had 57mm T exhaust installed on my 999r. Sounds like the DEVIL. Anyone been lucky enough to get a ticket for noise abatement?

Where do you live? That's never really an issue here in the US of A.
i dont think getting a ticket could ever be lucky, annoying to deal with. even when you win.
I think your less likely to be bothered if you ride your bike responsibly. Yeah pulling wheelies with loud pipes will just draw attention to yourself. But most Ducati riders wear proper gear, maybe exceed the speed a little and ride responsible, but most cops also have bikes and know the typical Ducati owner is not a stunter/squid. I dont think your 99R is any louder than the pipes on Hogs or custom choppers.
No tickets for my Termis please!.

No tickets for the 57 mm system on my 999R so far. I figure it's quite a bit quiter than a Harley with drag pipes or a GSXR at 11K, and tickets for noise are the least of my worries. Speeding is another issue so I try to avoid both in the city by keeping the RPMs' down in town. Yes it's hard to do, and I'd be a down right liar if I said I didn't do it, but I try not to drive faster than I can afford. I understand 22 mph over the speed limit in Colorado can mean a trip to jail and getting your bike towed and impounded. It's up to the Man if he wants to cut you any slack, but I understand the charges go from a traffic issue to a criminal issue when the speeds get up there. I own a couple of bikes and really try to avoid getting any tickets which would put my license in jeopardy and make those bike in the garage worthless. So far so good and no issues here in Colorado.
It can't be any louder then the Harley owners who run open pipes. Sheeesh
I live in Santa Rosa CA. We all have heard the LOUD all show and no Go Harley's. I was just thinking on my way homew from the dealer after having the pipes installed that I bet this thing SINGS at about 10K RPM...
Actually, I have the full 54mm sytem on my 749 and to tell you the truth, the first time I cranked it up I was a little dissapointed in the 'volume'. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound but it could have been louder and not hurt my feelings any. It does get a little louder and develops that drone at certain rpm's once the muffler gets hot but I still don't think it's toooo loud even then. I'll tell ya what...I grew up being taught to always repect and cooperated professionally with cops and you will come out tons better in the long run but if I ever got pulled over for loud pipes on one of my bikes I believe it would be justification for an attitude change on my part. The friggin Harleys & choppers are rediculous compared to our bikes and I would want an explination from the cop on his 'decision making process' for stopping me.

I have to agree, I have a full system on my 999 it's sweet but nothing that screams "Look at me"!!

agree also. I'd like more sound out of mine. Considering another option that'll be a bit different. Single 60mm ID round silencer on the 57mm Termi head pipes. Should help to anounce my arrival. :D

...do'n all I can to give Ducati riders a bad name! ;)
I have loud pipes on both my bikes. Still not as loud as a harly with pipes. You should not have any issues.
Loudness

I have the full system on my 05 999R and have been told several times by onlookers or folks I've passed full on that the bike isn't loud or if it is, it's not unpleasant. I always wear ear plugs and helmet, of course so I can't tell much. I've recently come up 4 teeth in rear sprocket and I'm told that the cops will be eyeballing me then. Bike's still in the shop so I'll soon find out. Also, with the full system and Powercomander, this Duc puts out 151 rear wheel on the dyno. Hyawhata? Bob in New Mexico
It can't be louder than this. Turn up the volume and let me know.
