Good afternoon friends. St2 barely running and dies

So to say I've tried everything so far and this new issue has started. Bike barely wants to fire. If I play with the throttle I can keep it going but won't get past probably 2500rpms. Guessing that since it has no cluster yet. Following things I've already replaced.
Starter
Cps
Fuel pump
Fuel lines
Clutch and basket
Initially bought it laid down by some idiot.
My plans to build it into another one of my cafe racers.
I just am beyond baffled at the current issue. Got it all back together after clutch and starter replacement and took up the road I live on. It's a dead end street maybe got 1/4 of a mile up. It died so thought it was my cps sensor and just ordered a new one. Then got that installed and even tried it at three different clearances and still not but finally had spark again. So then I started the next issue no Fuel. Replaced the pump and all lines and removed the filter for now until I put a inline one under the tank. Got it to fire up today after the Fuel pump and then it just dies. Seems like it's being starved of fuel. Intake pops and exhaust backfires. Already checked timing marks and all correct.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You have mentioned the parts you have thrown at the bike, but you haven’t told us what you have done with respect to diagnosis. What are your compression numbers? Have you done a spark plug reading with new plugs? Have you verified timing?
Already verified timing the initial issue was no spark and my original cps was bloated. And has good compression. Can't figure out why injectors won't seem to activate. Checked all connections and plugs and pins are all fine.
What were the compression values? What color is the spark at the plugs? You say that you believe that it’s a fuel delivery problem, have you checked the fuel pressure?
You’re kind of all over the place man. It’s very hard to read and figure out exactly what’s been done….which helps us help you. Trust me, it will be much quicker to get it fixed if you can be more clear… 1. You bought it not running, no spark? 2. You’re certain you have it timed correctly? (I know you said yea, but if it wasn’t running when you got it who knows what it’s been through). This is why a compression test might give insight on if it’s got a wanged valve. 3. Set the COS to spec. 4. Verify both plugs spark. 5. Verify both injectors are spraying. 6. Check fuel pressure 7. Battery voltage. I know you’ve done some, but be careful and confirm. IE you had spark, then not, same with fuel. So start from square 1 and verify all. These are the basics, if you can confirm each, and are systematic and thorough we can help. Otherwise you’re grasping at straws and wasting your effort.
Do a fuel pressure test with a proper tester, --check the injector signal, -check the spray pattern at the injectors----Do a proper compression test, --do a proper leakdown test, There is a list to start with--but by no means is this everything---Remember this all that is needed for your motorcycle to run is---Fuel, Fire, & Air--determine which is there & which is missing.
Out of my skill level here, but that's never stopped me from chiming in before.

Is it possible your fuel tank is not venting properly? I feel like I've heard those symptoms caused in the past by a fuel tank that isn't venting well.

Good luck!
Take air element or enough of the box out to expose the intake. Spray WD40 or brake clean into the intakes while you crank it over. Will it keep firing better that way? Then it's fuel.
Injectors not activating: check all your earths - particularly at the ECU.
Another thing to check is the relay, and obviously all the connections as well. They tend to work or not work but can have intermittent performance. I found mine at a local auto parts store and just replaced them for grins and carry an old one as a spare. How about the wires? You can check the resistance of them and make sure you have a clean connection inside.

Mine had problems running a while back and found the connection inside the horizontal jug corroded a bit from water getting to it from washing.
Not gonna lie feel like a idiot had fuel lines wrong when I changed the pump. Fired right up

Sometimes its something simple! I once put a fuel pump in backwards (pos and neg cables on wrong sides, tbf they were labeled wrong) and it had me so confused for about a week!

I actually did that first lol

Dont beat yourself up mate--Any of us that have been working on motorcycles & cars --especially those of us that have been doing it for 5 decades have at some point in time done something really stupid----and what you did does not meet that criteria----The thing is we learn from this--& you will probably never do this again.---Just wait until you do something really stupid --lol

Thanks bud I definitely appreciate that. This is the downfall to rebuilding a boat at the same time as building a motorcycle. Have one torn down to the block and redoing all the wiring well getting the bike back started going again. It's been sitting stagnant for a year.

D
Did the codes clear?
How do I check the codes it a 98
I just went to take it for a spin and seems to not want to get over 2500rpms just stumbles and if I hold it wide open dies. The exhaust on it is stock but last idiot cut it to make shorty pipes and that's my next buy. Need something that doesn't look chopped
