Just checked out the new Hyper, Hyper SP and the Hyperstrada. Very cool bikes, but they are going to need their own place to play. Little of the knowledge on the Hyper forum will be useful to them and they will only upset the cranky old air cooled 2 valve guys.

Let's get out in front of this so we don't have the hard feelings they went through on the multistrada forum before the split. (thanks admin)

On the bright side, I am looking forward to a glut of "real Hypers" on the market soon at low prices. Might have to pick up a few.

Feel free to disagree among yourselves.

It sounds like you are one of the few who have seen them in the flesh already!

I agree, a new sub forum will definitely have to be set into place.

Might have to pick up a few.
A few!?

The reason the Multi forum was split because the new MTS1200 is so different than the old one that it was confusing to people who tried to search for info.

The new Hypers are not that far of a departure from the old ones, so there is probably not a need for it.

Maybe so but think about it, 4-valve engine, 110 HP, 18,000 mile valve check, 4.2 gallon fuel tank, wet clutch, factory luggage options and the mirrors are in the right place.

What will we have to talk about?

I think time will tell. To my knowledge these haven't hit dealers yet, right? I'd give it a couple years (like was done on the Multi forum) and see if the same thoughts are with us. Not saying I disagree with either end of this suggestion, I just think it is, well, Like the Gilbert Godfried tsunami jokes, too soon.

The Monster forum seems to be fine with all it's variations over the years. I think all it would take is for people to use descriptive titles for posts. If you're asking about an exhaust for a 796, mention that in the title. Not a title like "Advice needed!" followed with "Which exhaust would be best for my bike!?" in the post.

I dunno, I just don't see the need to separate everything. I'll be interested in all generations of Hypers but not interested enough to surf both sections.

Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell if there are enough insights to share between the models. I give it two weeks post release before somebody starts this thread --> Engine swap, hyper 820 into evo sp what do I need to make this happen?

I disagree, I favor the split forum, the new Hyper is so different.

I liked being here at the beginning of this Hyper forum, it was fun to learn the new stuff from the start, & with the NEW Hyper, it would be just like that. Aloha Alex
