So my 696 was stolen, I live in Canada, i had crg hindsite LS mirrors, frame sliders, CW fender eliminator, and quat d ex box exhaust on it, bike was in showroom condition, paid $10,450 for the bike and then another $1,700 for the accessories. Throw in taxes and it was about $13,300 roughly. Autopac is offering me 9,000 for the bike and 1,000 for the parts. Does this only seem like a kick in the balls to me?

In Alberta you can get "current value" insurance, or "stated value" insurance. There is a cost difference, but you have the choice.

Check the used market (replacement) value for your 696.... I don't think that they are far off.

I worked total loss insurance claims for many years in auto, motorcycles and marine industry.

As a rule, world wide, a vehicle and its accessories lose 15-20% of MSRP value the second it rolls off the lot. Throughout your ownership lifetime, an insurance company will always be ahead of the depreciation curve.

That offer is right on.

Get GAP insurance next time, or ask your insurance agent for a "Value to Owner" coverage plan (more $$$), but as you just learned, losses happen...
