For those going to the MAD days just gauging interest if I decide to not stay with my friend in the cheapy hotel and opt for the more pricey but very convenient Lodge right on the track. I don't smell or snore in my sleep so I'd be willing to share a room with a couple other people to cut down on the price. I think Zooom mentioned he was maybe planning on staying at the Lodge. How's your back Zooom?

I think rooms are around $97 after the tax so if 3 people stayed Sunday night and Monday night each person would pay a total of around $64. Lemme know who may be interested. The plan for me is to head down Sunday afternoon since it's a 5 hour drive.

I could be up for that, though I have been known to snore, so if you guys are heavy sleepers it may be ok (I usually stay up later reading a book or something if theres a possibility to disturb people) but if not, no worries I can sleep most anywhere. My other thought is if I cant find any trailer space and end up building a ramp and bringing my SS down in the aerostar I can sleep in the back with my bike

So can I confirm that both zooom and apagios wanna reserve at the Lodge? I'm gonna double check today what my friends wanna do. If they still can't give me an answer I'm ready to reserve a spot at the Lodge for three. (Zooom, Apagios and me)

OK Zooom. Cole said there is no difference so no point in getting one of the block ones. Just want firm commitments from anybody who wants to share a room. Basically unless you get hit by a truck you're gonna share a room. :)

Apagios,

In case you don't read this forum often I'll PM you.

I will reserve as soon as I hear from you Apagios.

When I visit the site I click on the number off to the right that shows all the threads with new posts since my last visit. Then I scan the list for ones I've been watching or I'm interested in.

good strategy ill try that, thanks.

Now I may be exposing the aerospace engineer geeky side a tad but it is slightly amusing to me that we are discussing methods to optimize the reading of a ducati forum. :p

I'm still cool, I swear

Zooom, Apagios,

Please PM me your full names. I need to provide this to the Lodge. Read below for reason.

I have now reserved the room for April 9 and April 10. Checkin is 4PM. I asked the lady at the Lodge about the times that someone would be there as I guessed that they aren't all hours of the day. They confirmed they are normally gone by 5PM. Unless we leave earlier in the day we may end up getting there when they're gone. What they do is leave keys for reservations at the security gate at the entrance with the guard. If the guard isn't around they are doing a security check of the facility and will be back shortly. My concern is if we all three do not arrive at the same time. I would ideally like to Caravan down there. Then it wouldn't be an issue. However Apagios it doesn't sound like you're set on how you're going to get there and therefore may not get there at the same time. Zooom we may be able to arrive at time same time with my friends.

Therefore please PM me your full name. I will give this to VIR and that way if you arrive separately you tell the guard at the gate your name and they will have a key for you.

Also as the day gets closer we can exchange cell #'s and details on when we'll arrive.

Apagios, Zooom,

OK getting closer to April 10-11. What are your plans for going down there? I think my friends and I are heading down April 9 around 11:30 AM in the morning or so like we did for the March 24-25 Cornerspeed class. This gave us plenty of time to drop off the bikes at the track, check into the hotel, eat, etc. Nice not feeling rushed.
Zooom,

I think you were gonna leave during the day. My one friend is in Gainesville and we'll be leaving from his house around 11:30ish I think. I think you need to head out 66 to get to VIR anyway from Maryland anyway. Would you like to caravan down there with us? Let me know here and PM.

Apagios,

I think you were planning on leaving later on Sunday, but if you can leave early Sunday then great you're welcome to caravan along as well. If not then the arrangement will be there to get in via the security gate so you can check into The Lodge. Let me know here and PM.
