Up for sale in Seattle is my first Monster. I'm really not too excited to sell but I've got other projects.

$4,000 - asking price

1997 Ducati Monster 900
This is the first version of the now iconic Monster family. The first Gen is still the best styling hands down if you ask me. 1997 was the final year of Cagiva ownership, and the Elephant logo is still represented here on certain bits. With the sale of Ducati to an investment group, 1997 was also the final year of this style Ducati font on the bike. From 1998 on you see the current Ducati script.

Title in my name and clear.

Some details:
-28,xxx miles. (goes up bit by bit)
-This is a very early production '97 still with V2 heads. The V2 is what you want when it comes to heads.
-Oil changed recently, Full Synth Motul 10W-40
-New Fork Seals installed
-Stainless Front brake lines (Galfer) and fresh pads.
-Stainless Clutch line (Galfer)
-Fresh Belt / Valve Service
-New Rear Wheel Bearings
-Upgraded Reg/Rec
-Very good paint, typical scratches in typical areas.
-NO Monster tank dents!! And no rust in tank.
-Corbin seat.
-Rear wheel hugger included if desired (I removed it)
-DanMoto pipes.
-Shorai battery. (prefer a non-lithium unit? I'll gladly swap it out, though I have had luck with Shorai.)
-CRG lane splitters
-I can install a ventilated clutch cover if you'd prefer that over OEM.
-Fires right up and rips
-All engine maintenance by ex Ferracci race mechanic
-Frame, bike, everything in excellent shape, super clean. Get in touch with any questions.

I run a vintage Japanese motorcycle shop in Seattle and this is my personal bike. I installed stainless brake/clutch lines because I was doing some routine maintenance and figured I'd upgrade those. I also replaced fork seals with OEM seals. My shop doesn't do much work on Ducati's, so our friend (ex Ferracci mechanic) did the belts and valves recently for me (less than 500 miles ago). Anything besides basic maintenance I ask him to take care of for me. I'm happy to post more pictures and will get some better ones up soon.

If you have any interest in a first Gen Monster, get in touch. The tank on this is not dented, I'm pretty obsessive about that. The frame is in great shape, no battery leakage stains etc etc. Anyway, I'm trying to make room for my other projects so let me know if you have any questions.
