Fryed Ecu

Has anyone heard of an ECU being Fryed by using a jump pack to start a Ducati, I started my Desert sled with a jump pack it ticked over for about 10 mins then stalled, then it would not do anything with lots of warning messages, took it to dealership and they told me the ECU is Fryed 🙄

Hmmm I would have thought the main fuse would blow before causing any damage. Are you sure you jumped with 12V?

Yes it was a morcycle jump pack

Did you happen to attach the leads backwards at any time? Even if you didn't start it that way?

can't see why it'd last 10 minutes if it was a problem. electrics tend not to work that way ime. upset them and they're dead.

Perhaps the problem existed prior to jumping. Maybe it’s WHY you needed to jump it, and running it after that point just led to disaster. Shorted cable, bad connectors etc, then add load and they’ll really cook

Voltage regulator? Lots of goofy things happen when that goes south.

I would look for bad grounds, and/or a bad v/reg. Unlikely to fry the ECU unless there was a gross overvoltage situation from a faulty regulator.
