I need a set of stands for a 748. I've been looking at pitbull and have used them on my cbr, a bit pricey but sturdy. I've also looked at a few no name brands on ebay. I dont mind spending money but i'm not going to need to lift it much, on the other hand suspending a bike in mid air on a cheap stand kinda freaks me out.

So i guess this is a 3 part question:
1 What do you use/recommend?
2 Is it a good idea to get a reversible rear stand?
3 Are all stands pretty much the same?

i have the pit bull rev. rearstand, and i love it. (i have a 916).
super solid, and easy to use!
for front stands, i don't use mine very often, so i got a fairly inexpensive front stand from FBF.. i think they're like $60 or $70......

All rear stands are the same. I got a Handy, which gives you the rear plus the front (under the fork tubes) for about $100.

If you want a stand that goes in the steering stem, so you can remove fork tubes, the best by far is Woodcraft. You can get different pins for all different types of bikes.

1. I use Pit Bull stands for both my bikes

2. Yes it is a good idea to get the reversible rear stand.

3. No all stands are "pretty much the same" yes they all lift your bike, but some are just plain flimsy and unstable.

There are 2 stands that I'd trust my bike on.
Pit-Bull or Woodcraft. But Woodcraft doesn't make them for my 916.

have any of you guys seen the T-Rex stands on ebay. They're $99 and reversible. just curious. looks like a good price. hard to tell how sturdy it is in the pics though. hate to have my bike crash over because i wanted to save 80 dollars :)

i bit the bullet and bought both the baxley sport chock and the rear pit bull spooled/nonspooled. great combo. ride right into the chock and then the bike stays up straight and locked. raise the rear with the pit bull without having to balance the bike with one hand.

they were delivered with the bike and it makes oogling the bike easier. (i'm still taking a peak into the garage every chance i get. with both stands, the bike is like it is on display. upright and not leaned on the kickstand helps with looks as well. )

I currently use the PitBull Front and T-Rex Rear.

I feel T-Rex stands are the "Best Buy" in the market. See post #5:
