For those who use NAPA fuel filters

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but what's wrong with the filter support as it is? If the NAPA filter's band is at the support band, it is clamped in. I have yet to find it loose when swapping them.

Have you experienced an issue with the filter support? Of course, that item's price is low enough that it isn't a point to argue. =)

I've had one of those on my eBay watch list forever. Just can't seem to push the buy it now button. It is a neat solution, but the filter does fit snugly without it. IDK, maybe...

As I mentioned it's not necessary, and if the aim is to penny pinch (perhaps the reason for buying the NAPA filter to begin with) somewhat self defeating. But since I've never felt confident snugging the seam of the NAPA filter in the factory bracket, I thought I'd give this thing a try.


I can tell you this adapter is very well machined (of Delrin according to the seller) and does indeed allow the filter to be very securely clamped. If peace of mind is as important to you as it is to me this is one inexpensive way to achieve it.

Yes, well, that's understandable, they are 8.00 dollars.

Replace NAPA Filters More Often

An important maintenance item for all fuel injected Ducatis is to replace the OEM fuel filter every 6,000 miles.

Compared to the OEM filter, the NAPA 3032 filter is roughly the same overall length but smaller in diameter. This means it contains a smaller amount of filter media, so it should be changed more often than the Ducati fuel filter because it will fill up with debris sooner.

A partially clogged filter will reduce fuel flow, cause bad throttle response, and can lean out the motor at high rpm. In addition, it will cause extra load on the fuel pump which demands higher current from the electrical system thereby making the charging system work harder/longer that can lead to a fried regulator.
