Took Red out today and she ran great for about 5 miles out but then she took
to spitting and backfiring. Would still rev on up nicely in the gears but really
didn't like to slow down or run part throttle. I came on back
home and started searching again. Checked the trim screw settings again,
checked wiring.

Seems to me it mostly does it
on the vertical cylinder which would be the second in line for fuel.
I could sit and watch the vertical TB spit when the throttle is cracked
to about 2 to 3k. I really think it's a fueling problem.
I didn't check the return fuel pressure when I was checking.
Is there anyway to pull the injector and do a redneck check?
(On a fiat I take the fuel rail and flip it upside down and turn the key on
and watch the injectors spray pattern :))

Have you checked for vacum leaks and the intake runners and exhaust headers?
no really haven't other than checking all connections.
I think I'll pick up a bottle of lp gas and check now though.
