900cc four cylinder DOHC with cast magnesium engine casings and hand beaten all aluminium body work. Who made bikes like this 50 years ago ? Oh and the price ? To you Sir only £250,000 ! :D

Guzzi, albeit with half the cc's and twice the number of cylinders.

Nah....Ferrari used it on the Alfas which he raced for the Alfa factory back in the late 30's. It has been around since...forever.

A more compelling story is how the same rampant horse logo became the official crest of Stuttgart, and thence to Porsche.

BTW, does anyone know if this is a protected trademark in part or in whole ?

Slap 'Ducati' on it and call it an early model! After all, Ducati originally used the prancing horse logo before Ferrari took it!...

250k Gbp - $447,000

zoom in on the placard, loaded with typos - Even Enzo is misspelled!

For a half a mil, you would think they could at least get the spelling right..

It's ugly. (IMHO) Some people will "love" anything if you put a Ferrari or Ducati sticker on it. I'll keep my 998 thank you very much.

How about this for a different take on a Ferrari Motorcycle;

Thing's got a 308 motor.....

http://blogs.motorbiker.org/blogs.nsf/dx/03162006092656MWEBWV.htm

Oh and back on topic;

"The one and only Ferrari motorcycle will be among the star two-wheeled attractions at the 2006 International Historic Motorsport Show, which takes place at Stoneleigh, in the UK, from February 24 - 26.

The machine (top picture) was hand built by Kay Engineering over a five-year period - under a full Ferrari sanction - as a tribute to company founder Enzo Ferrari. The unique bike has a 900cc, four-cylinder, DOHC, air cooled engine and is also being offered for sale at the show... for a price of £250,000 - with no offers!"

Something like this is done with tongue set firmly in cheek, don't ya think ?
So why didn't he go whole hog and put something like one of their 6 liter V-12's in it ?

A wimpy V-8 comes off as just a poor man's "Boss Hoss".

Yikes. That aluminum scoop reminds me of those on-the-fly water scoops on steam locomotives. LOL Might come in handy policing airports with excessive populations of blackbirds.

They're having a laugh aren't they ? Looks like a "Bollywood" James Bond movie is being made and it's his latest machine full of new toys. Note the rear facing rocket launchers, the high volume side swivelling vortex lifters for vertical take off and landing, the exposed gears that metamorphosise in to a speed boat when ridden in to water. The list is endless.
