Is it bad practice or hard on the bike to use the fast idle as throttle relief? I have been doing some searching and researching about throttle locks. I believe there is a version of the Vista Cruise that I can make work. I also considered just buying the o-ring solution. I just don't want to fork out the dough for a Throttle Meister during the upcoming winter modding season!

Thoughts?

I once, inadvertently, forgot to take off the fast idle and then rode the bike 400 mi. Never noticed (was a little preoccupied as I was in a race with time) except it did seem to idle high at stops. The ride was all interstate. Released the fast idle and all was normal. In fact, I'd awake to 30 degree weather (we were camping) and the bike started better than the BMW's I was with.
