Now here is some really juicy steak .... Shuhei Nakamoto, chief of HRC, officially said today that he wants to see Valentino on a Honda, and he is ready to give him his own satellite team with an official bike!!!! This dovetails nicely with Furusawa's "Italy vacation" and resembles year 2000 When Valentino had his own official Honda. nakamoto says he never got to see Valentino race on a Honda as he was in F1 during those years, and we is ready to make it happen now.

Now, ain't that some Sh!t.... It finally got a bit interesting. Now it's between Audi and Honda... Will Valentino stay true to his mugello edition "let's stay together" helmet and risk wasting another precious year of his career with a bike which doesn't work, or does he take the "easy" route and get his tailor made dream team on a bike which is clearly winning and finish full circle at Honda? My 2c is that the allure of a Valentino specific Honda is too great.... He'll get chased out of Italy all the way to Japan for sure, but it will be worth it for him.

Supposedly an answer is due by laguna seca or Brno...

From today's edition of Crashnet,,,,,,

Valentino Rossi, Marlboro and Yamaha | MotoGP News | Jul 2012 | Crash.Net

Valentino Rossi, Marlboro and Yamaha

Latest Valentino Rossi rumour: A Marlboro-backed Yamaha for MotoGP 2013.

Seems that our Vale is going to be a very busy little bee

Ducati ,,,, Honda ,,, Ducati ,,,, Yamaha ,,,, Ducati ,,,,,,, Decisions, Decisions, Decisions ,,,,,,

And all the while he's pondering this, pondering that ,,,,, he's SUPPOSEDLY focused on riding his CURRENT COMMITMENT to the maximum of his ability

My guess is that after 3 races on consecutive weekends ,,,, the current 2 week break is more than the rumour mongering media can stand ,,,,

If there's no news ,,,,, Lets make some   ;) :D

So he has a Ride at Ducati and Honda and a Marlboro sponsored factory Yamaha is possible. He's got them right were he wants them. At this point I only hope he picks the best option so he can stick it to Jorge next season.

One point... The Yamaha stuff is a rumor... HRC boss actually announced this today... There is some factual difference there.

As an aside... I stopped by laguna (work across the road) this am... Shit is starting to rumble here!

With the rumors of Marlboro following him away from Ducati, maybe the helmet message was intended for them and not Ducati... So will it be another Marlboro Yamaha, or will we see a Marlboro Honda?

The only problem I see with Rossi on a Honda is that it is a corner exit/top speed bike, as opposed to the corner entry/corner speed bike he prefers.

It's also obvious that the Honda isn't the weapon it was last year either.

If I were Rossi I'd stick with what works (M1), as opposed to taking a gamble on the RC213V. The current bike is a far cry from the 990 V5 monster he used to know.

If Honda is willing to tailor the bike to Rossi's wants/needs, I wonder if the chance to "stick it to Yamaha" would play a factor. He could beat Jorge and the Yamaha (his bike) and show that he's still a better developer/racer.

One thing I don't understand, is why Mabro is so active when you can't see their sponsorship anywhere?

Because most people already know that it's Phillip Morris' money behind the project and because of the corporate tax benefits of sponsorship/advertising. Lesser reason, but equally important, corporations like to be associated with certain aspects of sport or sports' personalities. Hero worship comes at all levels.

And the fact that cigarette advertisment is banned in E.U.
