So, I put a luggage rack and top case on my 14 Monster 1200.
Looking at the pics it looks like a delivery truck or something with the box attached. It doesn't strike me that way in person.

The brake light is back in there, as you can see. Makes me wish for something more visible, and I ordered these LED license plate bolts for supplemental brake lights. I will probably have to play test crash dummy, but if anyone can tell me the easiest and/or best place to tap into the brake light power, please let me know. I have the axle mounted mud flap / plate holder so the wire will not be short. Will follow the plate light wires forward I guess.

I just did the extra brake light thing on my 2013 796, I use the Whelan Lin 3 light, ( I have put one of these on every bike I have owned in the last 5 years)

I tapped into the connector in the tool tray area. It is an eight pin Molex type that actually has only six positions used. Two grounds, a stop light, a running/plate light, a right directional and a left directional. It appears this is conventional and not a CANBUS as I had expected so it is easy to check and wire.

I would imagine our bikes are somewhat alike, if you find that connector post a picture or give me the colors on the wires
