Heat wrap works great, I used it on my 749. Definitely will lessen the heat coming off of the pipes. The only draw backs were wrapping it (so looks nice and even) takes time and is critical so not to overheat the piping. Also I have heard that steel pipe can corrode quickly because moisture is trapped under the wrap. I had no problems what so ever with the latter because the system I had used high quality stainless steel. I used DEI heat wrap, it's critical buy a decent brand so as to avoid uneven temperatures that the generic stuff tends to produce.
