I bought an out of state 999, the bad part is that I live in california, and the good/bad is that the previous owner had the frame powdercoated.

looks nice, but hard to read the frame Vin.

I can figure that out, but still cant find the engine Vin, if you know where I should look, or if I need to pull the fairing to locate it, let me know, post pix if it is easy and I'm just blind to it.

I don't think so. The frame VIN and engine VIN are not the same.
